{"id":942,"date":"2009-09-02T19:41:10","date_gmt":"2009-09-02T23:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/opensourcemusic.org\/?p=942"},"modified":"2009-09-02T19:41:10","modified_gmt":"2009-09-02T23:41:10","slug":"thank-you-to-all-that-attended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/opensourcemusic.org\/?p=942","title":{"rendered":"Thank You To All That Attended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone, thanks to all those who attended Circles and Lines last night, and apologies to those who visit to read articles or download sheet music.\u00a0 To the article\/sheet music viewers, I&#8217;ve been focusing all my attention on that concert for a while now, hence the extremely light posting.\u00a0 <em>But<\/em> I did get a review in the New York Times, which you can view <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/09\/03\/arts\/music\/03circles.html?_r=1\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Eric Lemmon provided an ambitious dramatic work for a large ensemble, \u201cThe Cure at Troy,\u201d a scene from <a title=\"More articles about Seamus Heaney.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/people\/h\/seamus_heaney\/index.html?inline=nyt-per\">Seamus Heaney<\/a>\u2019s retelling of Sophocles\u2019 \u201cPhiloctetes.\u201d Mr. Lemmon\u2019s work nods at <a title=\"More articles about Philip Glass.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/people\/g\/philip_glass\/index.html?inline=nyt-per\">Philip Glass<\/a>\u2019s \u201cEinstein on the Beach,\u201d both musically (repeated, simple figures are its primary engine) and in its use of overlapping and simultaneous spoken texts.
