To make an easy update on content, I am happily posting most of my complete, original compositions for the general public to download and enjoy. I entreat any composers who wish to have free hosting of their work to send me an email at elemmon@opensourcemusic.org and I would be happy to post them up here for you!
Preludes:
These preludes are out of order because I eventually intend to write twenty-six of them when I am so inspired. The reason that they are numbered in an non – chronological fashion is that each major key and (then subsequently its relative minor) are grouped in an ascending fashion starting on C. Eventually B major will be Prelude No. 23 and its relative minor, g# minor, No. 24. The reason that I have listed up to 26 is that because of the additional pitch organizations in the 20th century, I thought that an atonal prelude and a twelve-tone prelude should be warranted along side the principal keys that Bach, Chopin and eventually Shostakovitch used.
- Prelude No. 2 in A Minor
- Prelude No. 9 In E Major
- Prelude No. 10 in C# Minor
- Prelude No 26 in 0123456789TE
Viola Sonata No. 1
This little sonata is actually kind of tough to play but if the swagger is right, the audience is sure to get a kick out of it.
7
This is a duet for violin and viola, it is called “7” because I made a play on the designated pitch-class for a perfect fifth. When you play or look over the score, it’ll become apparant that the number 7 and its inversion in pitch-class world (5, the perfect 4th) are a big deal. The piece is a suite and most of the movements are styled after dances.
